We are currently recruiting undergraduate RAs for the following project:
We are seeking research assistants for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters to join our study investigating the experiences of multiracial Asian-White adults, particularly as it regards developing their racial identity and a sense of belonging. As a part of this research team, you will be called to reflect on your biases and work with a team of people who hold different identities. You will receive training to code the data, and you will be expected to dedicate approximately 5 – 10 hours per week to the research lab. We will also hold weekly meetings to discuss the coding process.
All RAs are expected to treat their duties and research with the same amount of responsibility or commitment that they would approach a class, a job or internship, or student leadership position. In return for your time and effort, you will be given opportunities to be trained in and learn basic research methods and skills, as well as receive professional and research development mentorship. These are some of the basic expectations that RAs will be held to:
- Just as other members of the team will be expected to treat you with courtesy and respect, you will also be expected to act in a professional and respectful manner towards participants, other members of the team, and collaborators at all times. This includes interpersonal interactions as well as email communication.
- Commitment to being an RA for at least two consecutive semesters.
- Prefer completed coursework in basic research methods and data analysis or a commitment to complete the coursework within the first two semesters of being on the team.
- Complete all necessary training involving which will include, but will not be limited to, data security, IRB, HIPAA, and so forth.
- Attend scheduled lab meetings.
- Timely and diligent completion of all tasks assigned.
- Read all lab related communication and, when requested, respond to all communication within two business days.
